Why do you get energy from the sun?

Because the sun is continuously blasting out huge amounts of it in all directions,

and since we happen to be in the neighborhood, we can't avoid getting hit by

some of it, and soaking up a little bit of what hits us. It's not much, but look at

what has come from a few billion years of that.
