One eye lid is stronger than the other eye lid. The bigger the fold the weaker your eye lid is.

Why when the corneal suface of one eye is touched it causes the contraction of the eyelides on both eyes?

When the corneal surface of one eye is touched, it triggers a reflex known as the corneal reflex or blink reflex. This reflex involves sensory nerve fibers that send signals to the brain, which then activates motor neurons to contract the eyelid muscles of both eyes. This bilateral response helps protect both eyes from potential harm and ensures that any irritant is addressed efficiently. The coordination between both eyes serves as a protective mechanism for maintaining ocular health.
