Firstly just because you believe in God or Jesus does not mean you will go to heaven. Even Satan believes in God. To go to heaven you'll need to have faith in God and Jesus, and live their way.

∙ 14y agoJesus tells us that He is the way, the truth, and the light, and that no one will get to Heaven except through Him. He also says that none will know the Father except through the Son, so believing in God isn't enough, because you won't truly know him. The Trinity comes into play here, too, because Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit. They are all the same and unique. So a belief in God would naturally cause a belief in Jesus.
