You should learn about Black History Month because it is a part of history and should be known.
People tend to concentrate on the triangular slave trade of the 16th and 17th century as if that is the only slavery that happened. Dreadful and terrible as that was, slavery was rife throughout the world and still is today.
Negroes enslaved Negroes, whites and orientals. Whites enslaved whites, orientals and Negroes. Orientals enslaved white, Negroes and orientals.
Don't imagine that blacks were not involved in the triangular trade. They captured people from other tribes and sold them to the traders. A moments consideration will show it would not have been economically viable for the traders to have to go and capture all the slaves they transported.

Why is there a black history month but not a white history month?
People learn of white history every month of the year, and that is including in Black History month. To have a month set aside would be surely redundant and only reinforce what is reinforced everyday in society and schools.
