Some people feel that sleeping with your head to the North (in the northern hemisphere) or South (in the Southern Hemisphere), helps align your body with magnetic poles and reduce the chance of you having insomnia. Although, other "experts" will tell you never to sleep with your head towards the north, because the magnetic forces will pull the good energy out of your body. However I could not find any documented scientific evidence of anything related to the direction of your sleeping patters. Additionally, several people believe that it is bad luck to sleep with your head facing East.
There is no scientific evidence to say which, if any, is better. There are however many charlatans that would be willing to convince you otherwise.
Perhaps this question will spark some lively discussion in the discussion area about personal preferences of the direction your head should face while you sleep. It would be interesting to hear from people who live in both the northern and southern hemispheres to see if they have different preferences. It also would be helpful for everyone interested in this subject to read about any scientific studies related to sleeping positions and directions.
You should never sleep having head towards North. Best is to sleep towards South in Southwest or Northwest corner.
Usually in India people have a superstitious belief of telling not to sleep by placing head in north and especially south, coz the lord of death, yama comes via the north side. This belief has been proven tat when sleeping through placing head at north or south disturbs brain since the magnetic radiation passes thro north to south and from south to north

It is an analogy. North Carolina is to South Carolina as North Dakota is to South Dakota.
Since WikiAnswers cannot see into your bedroom, we have no idea. I suggest using the compass on your cellphone to find out.

Most turtles do not go anywhere in winter. They sleep much of the time, and stay where they are.
