The compressor is coming on because you have the heater set to defrost. Take it off defrost and the compressor will not come on. I would suspect the compressor is locked up.
There is an electrical short to ground in the fan switch or in the blower motor itself.
there is a short somewhere in dash or heater, you need to fix that to stop fuses blowing
You may have a bad compressor clutch coil, you need to check the coil and work from there................
if you are blowing fuses DO NOT ignore it. most likely you have a short between the fuse box and the ac compressor, you will probly have to rip out the dash to find it, its not easy, seriusly pay someone that knows what there doing to fix it.
checkALL of your fuses short could be a problem. i have a 95 blazer, bumps may of screwed up wiring like in mine
There might be a bad fuse causing the heater to not work. Check the fuses if they are all ok you may have a bad blower motor. when you turn the heater on and no air is blowing then it is your blower motor.
bottom element is probably bad. another sign of this is that you run out of hot water fast.
Locked up compressor, or defective compressor clutch.
Beause there is probably a short/bad connection in the switch, or the blower motor itself
If the heater is blowing the fuse when the blower is turned on, I would suspect the blower motor is defective or locked up. If the A/C is blowing a fuse, suspect a bad clutch, or locked up compressor.
Dodges are good for blowing fuses. If that is not it, the fan switch might need replaced.
Check if small water hoses are hot going toward firewall and heater. Fan not blowing? 15 possible problems. Check all fuses.
