You might need to install a relay. With a relay you will give the radio the same amount of power, but it won't draw as much from the battery. There are videos on YouTube for installing relays into a car stereo system. Or maybe there is just a short somewhere - a hot wire touches a ground?
If it's blowing the fuse after listening to the radio for a while, and you've got a nice stereo system with big speakers I would say relay.
If it's just a basic stereo with nothing more than factory speakers, I would say it's a short somewhere.
The carburetor has an electric choke that is possibly shorted.
Usually means there is a short to ground somewhere in the lighting wiring.

The easiest way to reset your 2002 VW Beetle radio is to remove the radio fuse. Keep the radio fuse out for 10 seconds and replace it to its original slot.
Check to make sure that your power wire on the radio is not grounding to the body of the radio. this will cause a short and thus blow the fuse.
A radio fuse might keep blowing if the radio itself needs an inline fuse in a 1997 Crown Victoria. It is possible that the radio and interior lights are not grounded properly. Installing an inline fuse between the radio and the fuse box may solve the problem of the fuse blowing.
There is a problem with the radio itself, or there is a short in the wiring, or that circuit is overloaded.
Clock and Radio, i had a small short on my tercel and i blew my radio and dashboard clock, now they are not working, trying to replace that fuse..
The Ford Econoline radio has two fuses. There is an in-line fuse in the wiring harness on the back of the radio. There is a radio fuse in the fuse box. The location of the fuse box radio fuse is listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.
