from a non biblical point of view everything you see around you is made of out of star mass, because when the antigravitational energy from a star releases a varity of elements into space and some of the elements cause life to be possible

well ......... there is no importance there just dead comets and asteriods

Shows how much attention YOU paid in school! The Sun is our star - it's hardly a "dead comet" or an asteroid. Suns are giant balls of gas. Many of them have planets around them, but we haven't really been able to study planets around other stars yet, even though we have proved they exist. Stars are important because without light and heat, life cannot exist as we know it, so if there's any other life out there, it will be around another star.

Stars are giant energy generators. A star, the sun, supplies all of the energy on earth, either directly or indirectly. Photosynthetic organisms use the suns energy to form glucose, fructose, etc. This, in turn, is eaten (in the form of vegetation, fruits, etc.) by animals, animals then eat other animals. This process is known as the energy pyramid, where the sun is the basis of all energy. Everything we eat started off at the sun.
Stars are created by God. Religiously, from The Bible, one finds out that when Jesus Christ was born the wise men saw his star. So, in essence, every human being has a Star. It is believed that whatever is happening to someone's Star will also happen to the person physically. For instance, if a particular person's star is sick, that person too will be sick.

Don't also forget that everyday we see Stars in the night, it also confirms the promise of God for mankind (Abraham). "And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven..." Genesis 26:4

Stars are important to life, as they provide energy. Our Sun's light is the means by which green plants capture energy into the food chain; the Sun drives hydrological cycles which provide fresh water, and hydroelectric power; Solar energy captured long ago still trapped in chemical bonds provides fossil fuels like coal and oil; solar energy can be captured directly with panels or indirectly through wind turbines.

More distant stars could be said to be important to navigation at night.
