we need conversion because in one area of world people may use one unit to express the temperature e.g they use kalvin scale but in ur area u use celcius scale to express temperature.u goes to that area where kalvin is used u ask them that what is the temperature now they tell u that it is 44kalvin then u could not understand becoz u underestand only in centigrade then if u know that who a kelvin can b changed in to centigrade u will convert it and easily understand that what temparature is there .as people of different areas use different scales so we need to know these conversions.
