The reason why some people put questions under categories that have nothing to do with the question could be because they made a genuine mistake or perhaps the question could have been placed under one of two categories and the person chose the less obvious one.
Each question asked - is put into (up to) three categories. This means that people interested in those categories will see your question. The newest question is listed first - then the next oldest etc.
Categorization on Answers.com is different from tagging where you can add numerous tags. In most cases a question can be categorized into 1-3 categories which define the subject matter of the question.
Most of the time a correctly considered and worded question is what is needed; a question generally categorizes itself.
The best answer I can give you, is that there are a lot of questions out there. First a person would have to go to the category your question is in. Then they would have to know the answer. Or maybe, if it's a hard question, they might not want to do the research. Did you put your question in the best category/categories for it? [You can put your question in up to 3 categories]. That helps. You can always ask it again, but rephrase it.
You get 2 points. One for asking the question. Another for putting it into a category, it counts any number of categories you put it in as one point.
A better question is why did you put this under the categories "Jonas Brothers" and "Justin Bieber"?
You can categorize questions as science questions, business and finance, technology, mathematics, and much more.
It takes time sometimes. Be patient. Make sure you put your question in the correct categories.
The question you put in the WikiAnswes box is the one you want to know the answer to. Use the question guidelines and post it in the proper Category (or Categories), and a Contributor will (hopefully) get to it before too much time passes.
