For the Christian we do not praise God to receive something from Him. We praise God because our spirits are full of love for the One who has given us salvation and all the benefits that come with it. Only Christians can feel this God given love, but the good thing about it is that we can pass it on to bless others. Christians, when mature, find out that whatever their heart desires God will give it to them as they are in His will.

This means that our spirit is so close to His that we will not ask for something that is not His will because we are well satisfied with what He gives us day by day.
