The sacrament of Confirmation is important before you get other sacraments like Matrimony of Holy Orders.

Baptism is giving to a baby, Confirmation is given to an adult and they accept whether to want to stay in the Catholic faith or not.

Various churches within Christianity understand the sacraments in different ways.

In the Protestant churches, the sacraments are the Word of God made visible. In other words, the believer receives the grace of God through receiving the sacraments.

What is the difference between sacraments of the dead and sacraments of the living?

Roman Catholic AnswerSacraments of the dead are those sacraments which are given to people who are spiritually dead in sin, baptism and penance are both sacraments of the dead. Sacraments of the living mean that one must be alive in Christ, i.e. in a state of grace to even receive the sacrament: Confirmation, the Holy Eucharist, Marriage, Holy Orders are all sacraments of the living. Unction or anointing is a mixed sacrament containing elements of both. To receive a sacrament of the living while in a state of serious sin is, itself, a very grievous sin of sacrilege.

They can, under specific circumstances. The ability to receive sacraments is determined by: - how the initial marriage(s) was dissolved - how the current marriage was arranged - how the individuals live their lives. If your initial marriages were appropriately dissolved by the church See document "Annulment and Dissolution of Marriage in the Catholic Church" referenced below If you live according to Catholic principles If you were correctly married in the catholic church Then you can receive the sacraments.
