Why do you study history?

Schools make students study history because it tends to repeat itself. It is America's hope, that all of the bad things that have happened in its past, will not happen again because everyone will know what happened, and try their hardest to avoid it again. The more we learn about the past, the more we know about the future. Both mistakes and victories made in the past can happen again. So we should learn about them.

---sorry, that kinda turned into a persuasive essay, I've been writing them so often lately. :)
It's important to study history because it gives insight into how we have evolved and what we can expect in the future.
so we can know how the world,people,climate,culture became like this ..
