Ancient Tower? Secret? What on earth are you talking about. I can think of nothing in the Chronicles of Narnia that comes even close to being about that. Unless its a small detail mentioned in one of the books, it certainly isn't a major plot points in any of the books.
I don't think that a fictional story can really "show" much of anything, in cases such as these. Magic, in such stories, is whatever the author wants it to be.
Personally I think that the twilight series and the chronicles of Narnia are somewhat similar to the Harry Potter series
