to try to gain more power for the war when they started to get defeated
Hitler led Germany.
No. Not in a million years. Hitler was a power-crazed madman who was incredibly antagonistic and ambitious. The Allies has no idea the Soviet Union would prove to be an enemy in the years to come, and up to that point in history (before the US entered the war)the Soviets had not done anything to the allies to be considered a threat or an enemy. However, Hitler up to this point had already been appeased by demanding the Sudentenland in the late 1930's, had annexed Austria with the Anschluss, and had invaded Poland and France unprovoked.
In the 1930's Hitler wanted power for his Radio as it was the main equipment for communications. The standard 240 volts.
I don't either, but a lot of people did, and some still do. If I am not mistaken, Hitler was a Time Magazine Man of the Year in the 1930's. It is strange that anyone can think of him as 'cool'. He was evil, but in other respects a grotesque, screaming and ranting, petty-minded, resentful little man with a bundle of very common prejudices ...
The Treaty of Versailles.
Hitler led Germany.
The morality (or lack of it) of Hitler's Nazi government was becoming more clear to several Church leaders in Germany by the late 1930's. Some leaders stood-up in opposition to Hitler's policies that sought to purge Jews & the disabled. They were imprisoned. Christian teachings were in contradiction to those ideologies expressed by Hitler and the Nazis. Hitler clearly understood that his views contradicted those of the Church, and sought to first corrupt, then remove the influences of Christianity from German culture & society. The German public was slow to recognize Hitler's goal to destroy the religion of Christianity within the Third Reich.

I do not think it was possible in 1930.
