Without them, the Torah would be lacking in detail. Here's an example: you shall not murder. Is a Doctor Who gives the wrong medicine culpable? Fully culpable? Would it be permitted to kill an enemy who has hinted that he has plans to kill you in the future? There are myriads of details such as these which need clarification, which is what the Talmud and commentaries do.
Despite their length, both the Torah and the Talmud are actually extremely brief. Also, both (in their original form) are without punctuation or vowels; and both contain many difficult words. It is the classical commentaries that enable us to fully understand these works.

It depends on who the "other people" are. There are many individuals who are think well of Jews, there are many who think ill of Jews, and there are many who just do not care enough to have formed an opinion about the Jews.
Firstly, the question is incorrect - I think it was meant to be, "does Herod's killing of the innocents matter in the Jewish faith?" No. It is recorded in the New Testament, but I suspect there is a mention in the rabbinical commentaries - as there is on many things both religious and mundane. You may want to research into those. Jews see Jesus - Yeshua - as a prophet, not the messiah (unless one is a messianic jew!).

Hitler targerted Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews, Gypsies, Poles, Russians, and those who were mentally or physically disabled.
Hitler brainwashed them. Also, many disagreed but were afraid to speak.

Many people think of it as a holy place, the Jews and Muslims want it really badly. which causes fighting. the Muslims think it is their land and it's not fair that the Jews got it. and the Jews want to keep it because it is where they want to build their temple for when the mesiah comes.
The Jewish people think that if Jesus existed as a real person, he died as a result of the uniquely grotesque form of Roman execution, crucifixion. (Many Jews do not accept that he was an actual person.) At the time Jesus was supposed to have lived, over 10,000 Jews were executed via crucifixion by the Romans.
