There are many things that can cause a person to feel fatigued, even though they have slept. It may be they have poor quality sleep. Sleep apnea is one such contributor of poor quality sleep. We go through sleep cycles at night, and need to be able to reach the REM stage for optimal rest. Drugs and alcohol can inhibit our ability to reach REM. Disorders such as anemia can also lead to chronic fatigue. There are many more reasons a person does not feel rested even after sleep; discussing sleep problems with a physician is always a good idea.
