Well...from my personal experience I've had dreams, day dream, and think about them. I think the reason why you still think, dream ect. about them is because you may not entirly be over them yet. Or you just haven't moved on yet. So some advice from me is, think a little. Why did you/them break up with u/them, I wouldn't start to date anyone else until you know that your officialy OVER them.
