Sputtering and lack of power in the drive but idling well could be as a result of several problems with your 1992 Mazda 929: Bad fuel injectors or fuel pump: The inability to deliver fuel in the engine under a load may cause misfire. Blocked catalytic converter: This blocks the flow of exhaust which limits power. Filthy/malfunctioning mass air flow (MAF) sensor: Faulty MAF sensor may send incorrect data to the ECU, performance-wise. Problems with the ignition system: Sputtering can be caused by old spark plugs, low-powered ignition coils or a defective distributor. Transmission problems: Loss of torque converter or a slipping transmission will may appear to be the same as engine power loss. Vacuum leaks These may interfere with the air-fuel mixture in the presence of load. Pro Tip: Early diagnosis could save you the cost of having to replace your engine or transmission. Yes. Hollow base deer slugs are made slightly undersized, and will safety pass thru most chokes. A few makers of variable chokes specifically warn NOT to use slugs with their chokes installed. It may not be safe to fire a slug thru an Extra Full choke (normally only found on Turkey guns). Modified should be fine.
195 to 210 degrees is just fine...
Possible shifter or linkage problem? ie: not actually going into reverse. Ummmm, you didn't zoom the tires in reverse and blow the gear did you... Hope that helps.
