because you still have to bleed it
Drain the radiator down half way. At the engine end of the top radiator hose is the thermostat housing. Remove the hose and 2 retaining bolts and remove the thermostat. Clean the surface good and install the new thermostat. Refill the radiator.
You can learn how to install fire lights on trucks and cars at www.projectresponder.com/. Another good site is blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911/archives/153900.asp
a thermostat is a good example of a(an)?
THE STARTER IS WET. WONT FIRE UP WHEN WET. INSTALL A STARTER SHIELD. GOOD LUCK THE STARTER IS WET. WONT FIRE UP WHEN WET. INSTALL A STARTER SHIELD. GOOD LUCK
You could have a bad thermostat, just because its new doesn't mean its good, TRUST ME ON THAT, or you could possible have an air pocket in the cooling system.
Where The Top Radiator Hose Clamps Onto The Engine. Where It Clamps On Is Called A Thermostat Housing. Drain The Coolant Down Some From The Radiator. Remove The Top Hose End From The Thermostat Housing. Remove The Housing From Manifold, Remove Thermostat Install In Reverse Order. Be Sure To Install Thermostat In The Correct Direction & Be Careful That It Fits In The Groove In The Housing Or You Can Crack The Housing. Add The Coolant You Took Out And Get A Bottle Of ( water pump lubricant & rust inhibator) Small Plastic Bottle . Good Luck
We are unable to post pictures on this site. Your best bet is to go to your local library and check out a Chilton's car manual ... it should have pictures as well as a good descriptive of the thermostat changout.
check the water level... if that's good try a new thermostat...
Thermostat is located on the transmission end of the intake manifold (left hand side) It is held with 3 bolts that are not easy to get to.(along with the thermostat itself) You will need to remove the black plastic tubing that runs from the air filter to the throttle body. Good luck!
If it is the 4cly you need to remove your intake, unbolt the thermostat housing from the side of the block (it will be the one with the radiator hose going to it) pull the thermostat out. When replacing with a new thermostat MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT WITH THE JIGGLE PIN FACING UP!!!! I repeat JIGGLE PIN FACING UP. Burp the radiator system well and your done. Good Luck
generally if an engine overheats, but then does not overheat when heater is turned on, is a good indication that the engine thermostat is stuck and needs replacing
Thermostat mulfunctioning, leaking coolant fluid or even over driving the car, good luck.OR shifting wrong, drrrr.
