CNN concentrates on news stories favorable to the Democrat Party and politicians and candidates ; there have been very few news stories that paint the Democrat Party in a good light, so focusing on the MH370 tragedy for 6 weeks - especially after the first week, when it was clear that the aircraft was lost with all souls - is a simple distraction.

As a watcher of all three big new channels, CNN spends no more time reporting on the Malaysian Airline flight disappearance than the other news channels.
The disappearance of the Malaysian flight is a fascinating story, and may end up being the mystery of the century if it is never found. For that reason alone, it deserves the coverage that it has received from all three major news services. It makes for good social discussion, it will most definitely become a book, and more than likely a movie of some kind. History has shown us that people love to be able to say, yeah, I was around when that (something) happened and this is what we knew.
