== == He did heal the sick because He could and because they need healing. Though, more often than not, God has multiple reason for everything that He does, and I believe that to be true with His miraculous healing of the infirmed. I believe that He healed to show that He as the Son of God, who He claimed to be, cared even for the leper, the cripple, and all those who needed Him medically, spiritually or any other way. Also, He was not an ordinary physician, as His miracles defied medicine and even logic. The dumfoundedness that this caused was a gateway to those people's souls, as He could even more readily tend to their spiritual need now that their seemingly more important physical needs were met. I also believe that the "healing of the sick" included the casting of demons out of people, as that was a much bigger help to them, as that is the worst spiritual condition that one can have. Even the maniac of Gadera bathed, put on clean clothes and sat at His feet, once the legion of demons, thanks to the Son, left him and entered the swine. The same reasons that Doctors, Shamans [faith] Healers, etc heals; because there are diseases and sickness.. Maybe you mean "How" does god heal?

Unfortunately, there is no evidence that God does heal sick people or protect them from harm. In fact, a recent carefully designed, double-blind trial of the effect of intercessory prayer on the outcome of surgery was able to test this very assumption.

In 2005, the John Templeton Foundation conducted a carefully designed, double-blind trial of the effect of intercessory prayer on the outcome of surgery, to evaluate whether (1) receiving intercessory prayer or (2) being certain of receiving intercessory prayer was associated with uncomplicated recovery after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The finding was that intercessory prayer itself had no effect on complication-free recovery, but certainty of receiving intercessory prayer was actually associated with a higher incidence of complications (probably because this certainty caused anxiety among some patients). This trial helps establish that God does not heal people, even when many people pray for this.

Those who claim that they can channel God's power and heal people by the laying on of hands or otherwise, are usually quite wealthy individuals. Persuading desperate people is a lucrative business.

As there is no evidence that God heals, or cures sickness, there is no answer to why he cures or perhaps even why he never does heal.
