Sometimes God must give you stuff that you need not that you want.
There are three types of answers to prayer. Yes, wait a while, and no. Like all parents, God knows that we have to do some things on our own to grow. So even though we think that we need a certain thing right now, like teens, we find that it wasn't that important in the first place. God knows that, so HE says wait.
And we all have to say no to our children sometimes. While it pains us to do it, it is a necessary thing for our children. God does the same thing. Did you really need the new thing, or was it a want? As Paul says, "He supplies all my NEEDS according to His riches in glory". Not wants, although sometimes that happens too. But trust that HE knows what you need and will provide it.
