There are several reasons why Google uses Linux for many of its needs instead of Windows:
1. Linux is cheaper (even available for free). Server versions of Windows can cost, depending on the specific edition, several thousand dollars per copy. With hundreds of servers, this is not a small investment.
2. Windows does not support the multitude of architectures that Linux does. Using Linux, Google can easily migrate to or utilize ultra-powerful systems from IBM or Sun.
3. Linux can be easily implemented in non-traditional systems, such as those with thousands of processors or with several terabytes of RAM. Windows HPC 2008 is very expensive to license for such an application and has not been as well tested in this area.
The biggest reason I use Linux is the lack of viruses. It does have downsides though. Finding programs that work on linux that you know from windows can be a pain (or in my experience they are).
By configuring the bootloader to use Windows as the default menu option instead of Linux. Refer to documentation on how to do this.
It would be fair to say that the percentage of African Americans that use linux is extremely low as is the level of educational attainment by African Americans.
Have a look at WUBI (search Google) to install Ubuntu as a file, without making any changes to your Windows 8 hard-drive. To remove WUBI, simply use Windows utility to uninstall programs. Or, create a separate partition on the Windows hard-drive and install Linux (or which ever distro you wish to use) on to the new partition. Remember to first backup important files onto an external storage device. Or, download and burn a Linux distribution with an ISO extension onto a CD and use as a Live Disk. If you then intend to install Linux, you will be given the choice to either install as a dual-boot with Windows by installing Linux alongside Windows, or wiping Windows and letting Linux use all the hard-drive.
You don't. There are many other different Operating systems out there that you can use instead. Mac OS X, Linux, Ubuntu are sone common alternatives for Windows.
Both Windows and Linux hosting is powerful. If you use ASP or .NET then you should use Windows hosting platform. If you do not, then you can use the more affordable and more popular Linux hosting platform.
you can partition the drive.. to use both OS
You can use a program called NDISWrapper. It will use the Windows driver for your network card and allow it to be used in Linux.
Windows and Linux use device letters to identify each storage device on a computer.
Don't use Windows use Linux Ubuntu
Yes you can. Ubuntu's WUBI uses the Windows bootloader (NTLDR) to boot Linux. It also uses the Windows filesystem (NTFS). This, however, is not the traditional way to do things. The traditional way to dual-boot Linux and Windows is to use a generic bootloader such as Grub to boot both Windows and Linux.
that don't use windows or Linux or mack executables that don't use windows or Linux or mack executables
You have to use so called SMB server (usually it's included in each Linux installation) which allows to communicate Linux with windows.
