To colonize is to take control, usually by force, of an area or country that is not your own and send your people to live there. Great Britain at one time controlled nearly 1/5 of the earth. The British have a right to rule those places they conquered. They never were very mean to the people they conquered. Actually, Great Britain controlled nearly a quarter of the earths total land by 1922, making it the biggest Empire in history. Great Britain has since lost practically all of her empire.
