Why does Guitarist Jeff Fiorentino thank Michael J Fox?

I assume this question is in reference to Jeff Fiorentino's Guitar Lesson website JFRocks.com's Credits and Thanks page where Michael J. Fox is thanked and also a link is given to donate to his organization.

The story I get on that from a friend of Jeff's on Facebook is that Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly character in Back to the Future was instrumental in Jeff continuing to pursue guitar playing. Jeff Fiorentino has since gone on to do countless guitar sessions for TV and Radio mostly in the commercial industry throughout the 1990's.

Jeff credits the Back to the Future movie in general which came out when he was about the age of the character in the film with him continuing guitar studies and passing on cooking school to take a chance on playing guitar. I think him and the crew at JFRocks.com thanking Michael in general was more a kind jesture than anything else as I don't believe Jeff himself knows Michael J. Fox. I don't even know if Michael J. Fox plays guitar or even played it or has any idea who Jeff Fiorentino or JFRocks.com is, but it's a very nice thanks to him on the site. JFRocks.com has a very large following online and I'm told that many have donated to Michaels organization thanks to Jeff Fiorentino's mention of it. So kudos to Jeff and JFRocks.com for that since the Michael J. Fox foundation is worthy cause to say the very least.
