Best Answer

Latin is an interesting language because much of English is derived from it. After taking Latin, I found that I was more comfortable using words I was once unfamiliar with because I was able to find meaning through Latin roots. Also, Latin is very helpful with grammar. Everything has a case:

Nominative-subject

Genitive-possession

Dative-indirect object, objects of prepositions

Accusative-direct object

Ablative-means, manner in which an action is performed

By knowing these in Latin, one is more able to identify them in English.
