well when the earth was being formed there would have been a spinning bit of rock which would have had enough gravity to attract more rocks which crashed into it and joined with it and then the gravity would have been stronger so more rocks would have come and some of those rocks would hit the spinning ball at such an angle that it caused the ball of rock to spin faster and because there was no friction or air resistance in space to stop it, the earth just kept on spinning.

Pheww!! that was a long sentence.

The circumference of the earth at the equator is almost exactly 24,900 miles. It takes 24 hours for the earth to rotate on it axis so the earth is rotating at a little over 1,000 miles an hour (1037.5 miles per hour to be a bit more exact).

The Sun's gravity keeps the Earth and other planets in orbit around it. If not for their orbital speed, they would be drawn into the Sun. It is actually a "mutual attraction" between the masses of the Sun and Earth, but the Sun has a mass 333,000 times greater.

Mercury rotates fast because the sun is giving energy to the planet more then on earth so it tends to spin quicker

What is the color of newtons disk while rotating?

The colour of the dis when rotating is white it was an experiment to prove that white light was actually made of different colors and that experiment shows that if you get all the colours moving and spining fast enough it looks as if the light is white

Where is the strongest electromagnetic force on earth found?

The strongest electromagnetic force on Earth is found between the North and the South Poles. The source of the force is found in the core of the Earth, which is rotating slightly faster than the Earth's own rotation, creating a generator of immense proportions.

What are 3 examples of rotation in science?

well, I'm studying the solar system and I found that in space it mainly talks about rotating.1 of the 3 examples of rotating in science is that the Earth rotates around the sun every 365 days

What can cause electromagnet poles to change?

Lots of things can change it like a bigger planet right next to earth, a black hole, even humans. Those are the things I can come up with so far, but all I know that it has to be either huge and/or destructive. If the liquid center of the Earth is charged and rotating, it creates a magnetic field. If the rotating is reversed, for any reason, the magnetic field reverses.

If time stopped would everything freeze or would there be another big bang?

Time as humans know it is a concept relative to the rotation of the Earth. If the Earth stopped rotating around the Sun, than Earth as a planet would begin to die from cold and lack of sunlight.
