I think you are talking about the ABS light if so your car has ABS brakes and your light comes on when the ABS brake sensor sticks on in the rear wheels. My mechanic says even with this sensor not working you will not lose the use of your brakes but your ABS part of your brake may not perform as it should. Mines does this a couple times per year.
