this happened to me before when I would always leave to go to my moms, we would turn it off and the red light would appear. but my dad not knowing that it was off turned the whole system off in the pack. which fried the laser that reads my disc we sent it in to service at the Sony ps3 website and got it back 2 - 3 weeks later.

∙ 9y agoIf your GameCube is not reading discs, this means the disc drive is broken. Even 13 years after release, Nintendo will still repair GameCube consoles - it'll probably just cost you money, as the warranty for your GameCube console has probably long since expired.

∙ 14y agoIt can only take a disc, if one is already in the machine then that is the problem. While this may not be your problem I found that I forgot I had left a disc in my PS3 and wondered what was wrong until I discovered this simple error.

∙ 11y agoIts Probably because of dust inside the console. If its not that, try using the Recovery Menu. Go on YouTube to find out how to access the Recovery Menu

∙ 12y agoIf it is an older model then it may have trouble reading newer discs. Same thing happens to mine all the time, unfortunately there's no way round it. :(
