Check out the four recalls from 2005, 2005 and 2006 on www.internetautoguide.com. Two are on exterior lighting problem with a sub-contractor. If you have condensation inside your turn signal lights they need to be replaced as they will cause electrical problems in the long run. They have a seal problem. Call Toyota to see if the recalls were addressed as they still could be a safety issue. I'm just learning of the recalls after buying my Tacoma 6 months ago and will call them tommorrow about these recalls. Hope this helps. The first Toyota 4Runner was introduced in 1984 as the 1984 1/2 models. It was nearly identical to the Toyota Pickup mechanically and was primarily different from the cab back. I found recalls for every year from 1988 to 2003, but I did not find any after that. Some of those recalls were minor issues and others more significant.
