Because the night Voldemort killed Harry's parents he accidentally put a part of his soul in Harry and if Harry didn't die Voldemort would still be rooted to earth because part of his soul still lived in Harry.

∙ 12y agoYes. Dumbledore won and became in possession of the Elder Wand, as it was owned by Grindelwald at the time. But I think it was because Grindelwald said it was good Ariana died and he said Aberforth killed her. and so they duelled........
