You can lose your connection to the World of Warcraft server for any number of reasons. The most common is "lag", either through your internet provider or possibly because of a large population on the server, causing temporary disconnects.
Personally I get disconnected a lot because my computer is not that great. Others get disconnected cause their internet connection is not that great. Then there are times when all the servers just say "ENOUGH" and boot everyone. Well, not really, but something server side usually happens. The only thing you can do is to try and reconnect.
Someone else could be trying to log into your account, and you can't have 2 people on 1 account at the same time, Or your internet just sucks. But if you keep getting disconnected you should change your password because you might be getting hacked.
whenever someone else logs on your account you get disconnected, then you try to log on and disconnect them and the cycle keeps going on... thing is you should change ur password....
also, it could be your pinging of the server. what that means is your internet is very slow. what you want to do is close everything except for wow.
While there are a few reasons why the launcher cannot access the server, there are a few wow-specific reasons:
1) Check your firewall
Some firewalls block programs unless told otherwise - you might have skipped the confirmation message when the new launcher was implemented (every patch is basically a new launcher too) and blocked it accidentally.
Go into your firewall's settings and make sure that the wow launcher and worldofwarcraft.exe are not blocked.
2) Check your antivirus
Some antivirus programs think that the launcher is a virus by mistake - recently Avast antivirus believed it to be, and put it in quaraintaine (or the vault). First check your virus safe/vault/quaraintaine and undelete the launcher file if it is there.
Then, go into your antivirus settings and make sure that the world of warcraft\cache folder is in your exclusions list. There should also be a battle.net\cache folder in your PC account, exclude that as well. Reboot the PC and try the launcher again.
This advice is a bit vague, but that is mostly because it all works a little different for every antivirus program and operating system.
3) Run the repair tool
If all of this fails, backup your Interface, Cache and WTF folders from World of Warcraft, and run the repair.exe tool from the World of Warcraft directory. Have it scan for errors and fix them. Reboot the PC and try to run WoW again.
If nothing seems to work, it could be that you were trying to log in while the servers were down and you were temporarily blocked by Blizzard. In this case, there's little to do but wait for a few hours and hope the lock is removed.
More tips can be found at Blizzard's technical support forum on the website, in case nothing else works.
