Yes. The motor and transmission will fit but you will need to redo the front springs and possibly change motor mount locations. I have a 1988 mustang lx with a ford 460 sitting in it.
According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual : A 1988 Ford Mustang ( all models ) has a ( 15.4 U.S. gallon gas tank )
The 2.3 liter 4 cylinder has ( 88 horsepower ) according to my Chilton book
LX was a trim level for the mustang, slotted below the GT in the lineup
The horn are located in the driver side front fender
Per my ford dealer service dept. .54 is best overall gap.
he said 2.3Need to know the engine size
I looked up a 1988 Ford Mustang 302 cubic inch ( high output ) and my Chilton book shows refer to the underhood sticker ( I know that my 1991 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX was 10 degrees BTDC )
