The shift cable is loose or mis adjusted.
To change the neutral start switch on a 1992 Chrysler LeBaron, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, locate the neutral start switch on the transmission, usually on the driver's side. Remove the electrical connector and the mounting bolts securing the switch, then replace it with the new switch, reattach the bolts, and reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the operation of the switch.
Drierside under car. Up on left front of transmission case. Transmission pressure switch. If it doesnt see transmission fluid pressure the car will not start.
First unplug the wire harness from the switch. Using the correct size socket (1" if I remember correctly) remove the switch counterclockwise from the transmission. Install the new one in reverse order.

If your car has an automatic transmission, there will be a short dipstick near the front (radiator side) of the transmission. With the transmission warmed up (go for a short drive), park on a level surface, and with the transmission in park or neutral and engine running, pull the dipstick out and check the fluid level against the markings on the dipstick.
