First, is it a tick or more of a clatter? (I know, I know, not trying to slit hairs here, but its important) A light tick could be anything from insufficient oil level to excessive valve lash (not sure if this is an older pushrod or newer hydraulic lifter engine, sorry). If its a deeper clatter (more what I think of as "diesel" sounds) then it could range from something as simple as premature ignition timing (spark knock), which could just require an adjustment to the distributor, to something as serious as rod or main bearing knock (very serious indeed, requiring an engine rebuild to correct).
The diesel engine can operate at 12:1 to 24:1 at idle.
Not recommended. The diesel engine has no sparkplugs and therefore relies on friction (heat) and compression, and as a result requires lots more torque power to start than its gasoline powered counterpart whose battery does not have enough amperage to turn over a diesel engine, much less start it running. As long as the specification of the Battery is up to or matches the specification of the engine electrics it doesnt matter if the battery is from a petrol, diesel, tractor or boat. Electricity is a discovery in science and independendant of the fuel your car\ engine uses once it is turning over. All you need to know is the amperage is within a reasonable variance and the voltage is correct. I started my Peugeot 407 diesel this morning from my wifes petrol Freelander. The Peugeot started in hald a tick. Always suggest that you have the engine running on the car you are jumping the charge from.
let the engine running, lift off the ignition coil one by one after opening the screw...a tick sounds will be heard ... no tick sound and gasoline leak on the plug thread means the ignition coil is busted.
I'm not familiar with that particular expression... what's a "tick over"? "Tick-over"is the old way of describing an idling engine. Combo van has been around for some time and has a variety of engines, petrol and diesel, you need to specify which you have. Some have no provision for adjustments, being electronically set.Geoff.
The spider with a tick-like body is called a tick spider.
A spider that looks like a tick is called a "tick mimic spider."
what does a tick look like
SHELBEY!!!!!!!!! SHELBEY!!!!!!!!!
That you are cool.
Tick means that someone has a tick. It means that it is kind of like an OCD disorder but they have to do it involuntarily.
sounds like you may have a short in the electrical system would be my only guess
Who knows but caitlyn is the bomb like TICK TICK!!!!!!
