Why does a Subaru smell awful inside after driving stopping then restarting?

You need to supply more information. What kind of odor is it, I mean besides "awful"? Does the odor come through the vents or somewhere else? Does the odor go away quickly? Are the windows closed? Do you have to be using the air conditioner or heater?
