It doesn't reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It reduces the amount of gasoline your car burns because there are more, "miles to the gallon," and therefore reduces the amount of carbon dioxide your car produces.

Hybrid cars don't release the carbon dioxide of the other cars, because they don't use, or they use less, gasoline. Carbon dioxide (CO2) builds up in the atmosphere, contributing to the greenhouse effect. So because they don't release it, hybrid cars don't contribute to the greenhouse effect.

Some hybrid cars use a battery which can be recharged from mains electricity. If this electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) then some greenhouse gases are being added.

Gas Cars

Driving gas cars creates pollution called carbon monoxide but the catalytic converter converts the carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide which is not as harmful but they are efficient and can drive very fast and long distances and the gas don't need to be filled often.

Electric Cars

Driving electric cars don't create any pollution but electricity may come from coal, so electric cars aren't totally clean and electrics are inefficient and can only drive very slow and short distances and the electricity needs to be filled often.

Hybrid Cars

Hybrid Cars has a mixture of gas cars and electric cars. They run on both gas and electricity. Driving hybrid cars don't create pollution and they are efficient can drive very fast and long distances and the gas and electricity don't need to be filled often.

Outcome

Gas cars don't reduce pollution but electric cars and hybrid cars reduce pollution.

If it burns less fuel it makes less carbon dioxide. Good gas mileage means that you need less fuel for your journeys.

what are several ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

We could switch to electrical cars or at least carpool or use the bus, since buses and carpools reduce a significant amount of cars.

What do cars have in their exhaust gases to reduce carbon monoxide?

Cars do not have anything in their exhaust to reduce carbon monoxide. A Catalytic Convertor in the Exhaust System is used to remove Carbon Monoxide from the exhaust gasses.

What gives out greenhouse gases?

The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide. Stuff you do everyday ride the bus drive a car turn on the lights all sorts of important stuff requires outputing greenhouse gases cars and buses give out the gas CO2 (carbon dioxide) power plants that make the energy for the computer your on now outputs CO2 as the most common greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide there is a plan called the Kyoto Protocal that helps by slowing down the output of six major greenhouse gases.

What do you know about greenhouse gases?

Emissions means "what comes out", or "what is released".When we talk about greenhouse gas emissions we are usually referring to carbon dioxide, which is emitted when we burn fossil fuels. It can also refer to methane, another greenhouse gas, which is emitted from cattle and from melting tundra.its is emissions from cars , fridges, factory's it goes into the atmosphere and coats things such as tree's and they cut the trees down and then it is less oxygen

One reason for global warming is?

One reason for global warming is the greenhouse effect. Cars and factories emit gases such as Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide. When in the atmosphere, these gases trap and retain the Sun's heat making the overall average temperature of the earth rise. This leads to other problems.

Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Are you causing the increaes in greenhouse gases?

Yes you are all of the human kind is. When they drive cars and stuff like that.So you should walk even if it's cold.To stop greenhouse gases.

What is the purpose of hybrid cars?

They help reduce fuel consumption and control pollution.

How is living affected by the impact of cars?

it is being affected by cars by producing more carbon dioxcide which makes more greenhouse gases.

Are hybrid cars smart cars?

No smart cars are not hybrids, nor are they overall good for the environment. They do help reduce fuel consumption some.

What is the current situation of the earth's atmosphere?

Well in terms of Global Warming, the burning of fossil fuels (gas for cars is one) releases more greenhouse gases, which mean there are more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases reflect sunlight BACK towards earth, keeping it warm. So the more greenhouse gases means the earth is warmer.

Do cars effect the environment?

Yes. Cars let out exhaust, which are gases from the car, that pollute the air! Some cars are electric or hybrid and cause little to no pollution.

How are green house gases beneficial?

Greenhouse gases are not beneficial. They are the result of humans driving cars, flying planes, and making factories that pollute...a lot!

How many companies make hybrid cars?

Companies that make hybrid cars include Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Hybrid cars help to reduce greenhouses gas emissions to become more independent from fossil fuels.
