A glass of cold water leaves a wet ring on the table because the heat energy from the outside and the cold glass of water inside the cup then it begins to drip

Yea its a little confusing i don't know how to explain it very well

well because of the temperature dfference, the glass has a lower temperature and whem you put hot water the cracks

Why do water droplet appear on outer surface of glass when cold water is poured in it?

The cold water reduces the temperature of the glass. The cold glass reduces the temperature of the air around the glass. The amount of moisture in air is temperature dependant hotter air can contain a higher moisture content. If the air temperature is reduced the water condenses. In this case the cold glass reduces the air temperature in contact with the glass, this results in the condenstion of moisture from the air, and water droplets are formed.

What is happening when water droplets appear on the outside of a cold glass of water?

The air has moisture (water dissolved in the air). The amount of air that can be carried in the air depends on the temperature. Warmer air can hold more water in it than cold air. When the cold glass is exposed to the air, the air touching the glass gets cold, is no longer able to hold as much water and the water in the air condenses (comes out of solution) on to the outside of the glass.

Why does a glass of ice cold water left on a table warms to room temperature?

The hot loses heat and the cold gains heat, mostly by convection currents in the air, but there will be some radiation and possibly some conduction to/from the table. If the table is wooden this conduction would be small but would be more if it is made of marble or something similar, or metal.

Why do water droplets from outside of a glass of water?

If warm moist air comes into contact with the cold outer surface of a glass of water, condensation takes place.

Why does a glass of hot water thrown into air on a cold day turn into a cloud?

since it's cold outside and the water is warm the water turns into steam

Is it correct to say a cold glass of water or a glass of cold water?

It depends If the water is cold and the temp of glass don;t matter than it is glass of cold water If the glass is cold and the temp of the water don't matter than it is cold glass of water People normally use glass of cold water

Why when you leave a glass of ice water on the counter water forms on the outside?

Water can exist in three states; as liquid water, as solid ice, and as the gaseous water vapor. In the presence of a cold surface such as the outside of a glass containing ice, vapor in the air will condense into liquid water on the cold outside surface.

What is the temperature of a glass of cold water?

it depends how cold it is

What happens when warm water makes a cold glass crack?

When warm water makes a cold glass crack it contracts.

Which water should be cold and cold when doing a old remedy for a pair of nested drinking glasses?

Put cold water inside the glasses. Dip the outer glass into hot water. The outer glass expands, the inner glass contracts.

What happens when salt water is poured into the glass containing cold tap water?

When salt water is poured into a glass containing cold tap water, the salt water will collect and settle at the bottom of the glass. This is due to the salinity and density of the salt water.

Why do drops of water appear on a cold glass of water?

This is condensation.

How does drops of water get on a cold glass?

Its condensation

Why there is water on glass when ice melts?

because the water vapour in the air touches a cold surface such as glass and then turns back into water on the cold surface and this process is called condensation

When cold water is poured into a glass the glass becomes colder?

Yes, it is true.

What causes the water vapor to lose its energy?

When it clings to a nearby cold glass, water vapor loses it's energy and turns into tiny water droplets on the outside of the cold glass. This is called condensation. You may have noticed it before. If not, next time you have a cold glass of water or pop, wait for a little bit, then look at the outside of the glass.
