∙ 11y agoThe comet orbits the sun, just like planets orbit the sun. The comet has enough momentum to avoid falling into the sun, but, not enough momentum to escape the sun's gravitational pull. It's called an orbit, and countless items in the solar system orbit the sun. The comet is just one of thousands of objects that orbit the sun.
