Why does a plant have leafs?

Plants have leaves to complete the reaction of photosynthesis, in which the plant will combine water and carbon dioxide with sunlight to create oxygen and glucose. Glucose provides the energy that the plant needs from day to day, mostly for respiration.

A plant has leafs because it makes it's food with water carbon dioxide and Sun Light.

Light is trapped in the green pigment (colouring) called chlorophyll. < (these are leafs)

The food that the plants make from water sun light and carbon dioxide is a sugar called glucose.

This prosses is called photosynthesis.

At the same time of making this sugar the plants make oxygen.

This is what we breath in.

Leafs trap Sun Light in their leafs so leafs are very impotant because they give us oygen as well as making there own food.
