Why does a pukeko live by the creek?

Animals live in the habitat that they have adapted to.

Pukeko's long legs are good for wet swampy ground. There they can find food like frogs, insects, eggs of other water birds and swamp vegetation. Pukekos also eat a lot of grass so you will see them in pastures.
