When beams of light strike a surface, part of the light is often absorbed.
The surface may also absorb some colors and reflect others. For example, a red shirt reflects red light but absorbs all the other colors in the spectrum. In other words, the shirt looks red because we see red light reflected from its surface.
A white shirt appears white in white light because it reflects all wavelengths of visible light equally. This means that the shirt does not absorb any particular color wavelength, resulting in the perception of white.
White light is made up of three colours; red, green and blue. If the shirt appears blue, then the shirt has absorbed any other colours (green and red) and reflected the blue, making the shirt appear blue. I hope this has helped :)
Under a green disco light, a white shirt would likely appear to have a greenish tint, as the light would reflect off the fabric. The brightness of the green light could also cause the shirt to look less vibrant, potentially making it appear more muted or washed out. Depending on the intensity of the light, shadows and textures on the shirt may also be accentuated, altering its overall appearance.
Blue! A dark purple shirt should have a dark blue tie, and a light purple shirt should have a light blue tie. Silvery white would look nice too. Blue! A dark purple shirt should have a dark blue tie, and a light purple shirt should have a light blue tie. Silvery white would look nice too. Depends on what you are wearing with the Purple Shirt. It could be a darker Purple, or lighter purple, it could be black or it could be white. What ever suit you wear or sports coat, can help decide the tie color.
-- A white shirt is called "white" because any light that hits it, no matter what color, bounces off of it.-- A red filter is called "red" because any light that hits it is absorbed and dies in thefilter, EXCEPT red light, which survives to come out the other side.-- So if there is any red in the light arriving at the filter, then the light that comes out is red.(And if there is no red in the light arriving at the filter, then no light comes out of it at all.)-- Therefore, we can be sure that light shining on the shirt ... if it has been through the filter ...is red light.-- The shirt reflects any light that hits it, so the light that proceeds from the shirt to your eyesis red light.

A white shirt looks white because it reflects all wavelengths of light equally, giving it a bright appearance. This means that it does not absorb any specific colors, but rather bounces all colors back, resulting in the perception of white.
a light-coloured shirt, light blue or pink will look best
A white shirt appears white because it reflects all wavelengths of light equally, without absorbing any specific color. This means that all the colors in the visible spectrum are being reflected back to our eyes, resulting in the perception of white.
A blue t-shirt appears blue in white light because it absorbs most colors of light in the visible spectrum and reflects back predominantly blue wavelengths. This means that the blue wavelengths are not absorbed by the dye in the fabric but instead are reflected off the fabric and into our eyes, making us perceive the t-shirt as blue.
White Light is made of all the colours of the spectrum (rainbow). If we look at something, say, green (like grass) it looks green to us because the chlorophyll in the leaves absorbs all the sunlight that lands on it with the exception of green light which it reflects. Therefore this green light that reflects into our eyes makes us see the grass as green. White objects, however, absorb no light and reflect all the colours back to us. As all the colours together make white light, we see the object (in your case, a T shirt) as white.
I think I have the exact same skirt and I spent at least an hour looking for a shirt or blouse to match. It was frustrating because anything with a pattern on it made the outfit look to busy, and anything dark made it look weird. I finally found out that a light blue shirt/blouse or white shirt would match.
