Waves do not need a medium all time.it depends like u need no medium when it is electromagnetic wave.

the wave which does not travel through a medium is called electromagnetic wave.

A sound wave would be a good example of a wave needing a medium to travel.

A mechanical wave such as a sound wave requires a medium to travel through.

No. The wave travels through the medium but the medium does not travel with the wave. Rocks or bone can be the medium for sound but the rock does not move with the sound

"Medium" refers to anything the wave needs, in order to propagate (travel).

If medium is of material then wave is said to be mechanical wave. If medium is non material such as free space, then wave is named as electromagnetic wave.

When the wave is in a particular medium, all of that type of wave will travel at the same speed.

any wave of energy except for electromagnetic waves need a medium to travel through.

when a wave travel through medium then sound is produced

A Mechanical Wave is a wave that requires a medium through which to travel.

A mechanical wave is a wave that uses a medium to travel. Without a medium, it would not be able to go anywhere.

An electromagnetic wave (this includes light) does not require a physical medium - it can travel through empty space. An electromagnetic wave (this includes light) does not require a physical medium - it can travel through empty space. An electromagnetic wave (this includes light) does not require a physical medium - it can travel through empty space. An electromagnetic wave (this includes light) does not require a physical medium - it can travel through empty space.

An electromagnetic wave does not need a medium through which to travel. This includes light, radio, TV, X-4ay, etc. The wave contains its own medium which is a photon.

A mechanical wave (like a sound wave) requires a medium for propagation because the medium must carry the energy of the wave. With a mechanical wave, the source puts the energy into the medium, and the medium transports it. In contrast, and electromagnetic wave (like light) can travel in a vacuum; it needs no medium to support its propagation. To keep it simple there has to be energy that's all

Mechanical Wave A wave that requires a medium thought which to travel.

We know that a mechanical wave requires a medium through which to travel. The source puts the energy into the medium, and it propagates. A sound wave is a good example of this, and we can contrast it with an electromagnetic wave (like light). Light can travel through a vacuum; it doesn't require a medium for its propagation.

A wave of kinetic energy requires a medium to travel though.

It is possible for a medium itself to travel, but in that case case it isn't called a wave, but a current. For example, water flowing in a river.

Electromagnetic radiation does not require a medium.

You need to specify the type of wave. medium

Because it needs a medium in order to travel
