The eight-spoke wheel represents the eight main practices (Noble Eight-fold Path) that enables the person to see the true nature of the universe, including oneself. Through realisation that all worldly things are subjected to change, including one's mind and body (energy and matter), Enlightenment (Bodhi) is attained; endless rebirth thereby ended. Where there is birth, there will be death. Ending rebirth through Bodhi, one gains Nibbana (Nirvana). The Buddha describes Nibbana as Beyond the Worldly (beyond space-time continuum), Highest Happiness, Freedom, Unique etc.
