Through realisation that all worldly things are subjected to change, including one's mind and body (energy and matter), Enlightenment (Bodhi) is attained; endless rebirth thereby ended. Where there is birth, there will be death. Ending rebirth through Bodhi, one gains Nibbana (Nirvana). The Buddha describes Nibbana as Beyond the Worldly (beyond space-time continuum), Highest Happiness, Freedom, Unique etc.
