The moisture content is not the only factor. it has to do with the temperature of the air.

WARM AIR RISES, Cool air falls. the air in the updraft is warmer than the air around it. The greater difference in temp means faster and greater updrafts

How does a moisture meter give a reading of the moisture content of wood?

By passing an electrical current from one pin to the other. The greater the moisture content, the higher the resistance. By measuring the resistance, it gives an estimate of the average moisture content. I think. 2009/03/14 - Correct, but exactly backwards .... Moisture (water) can be a conductor. Dry wood is an insulator. The higher the moisture content, the lower the resistance and vice-versa. Wood with a high moisture content gives a low resistance to the tester and conducts the test voltage better.

How do you decrease air resistance?

Resitance of air varies based on: 1. Percentage content of moisture (higher the moisture, lesser the resistance) 2. Percentage content of suspended dust particles and conductivity of those suspended particles (higher the content, lesser the resistance)

What makes cows eat more grass?

Moisture content of the grass and the quality. The higher a feed or forage is in moisture content, the more that feed or forage will be consumed by a cow.

What is the water content percentage of grapes?

Grape berry moisture can vary according to local conditions, the amount of moisture available and, the time of day the moisture content is measured. The moisture content of wrinkled berries may be just a little higher than 60%. Second crop clusters can reach 75%

How does wind direction affect moisture content?

Wind direction is the direction which the wind blows. If the wind direction is coming from an arid region, such as a desert, the air will be dry and moisture content will be low. If the wind direction is coming from an ocean, lake, or tropical area, the air will have a higher moisture content.

What is the proper refraction for honey?

Honey refraction is a measure of moisture content. Generally, the best moisture content is 17-18%. Higher that 21% usually is unfit to sell. However, since different types of honey have different specifications, you might be able to accept a moisture content of 23% for clover honey. See related links to read about various refraction and moisture content information.

Why do fine grained soils have higher values of moisture content compared to coarse grained soils?

because of their sizes. As they are very close to each other they can have higher Moisture content, they can also hold the water for a very long time when compared to coarse grained.

How do you eliminate hard stool?

Eat some more foods with a higher moisture content to prevent. Laxatives will help in the interim.

Why do plants need a liquid to grow?

Plants absorb nutrients etc through the process of Osmosis. This process can only work when these elements are dissolved in water as it depends on the soil moisture content being higher than the moisture content of the root cells.

How does different brands of popcorn affect the unpopped kernels?

Popping ability it related to the toughness of the outer hull of the popcorn and the moisture content of the kernel. The best popping brands have a thinner outer shell and a higher moisture content. They have been hybridized to produce these qualities.

What is the optimum moisture content of soil?

The water content corresponding to the maximum dry unit weight or maximum dry density is know that as optimum moisture content.(o.M.c.) or optimum water content (o.w.c) maximum dry density is achieved at higher O.M.C.for cohesive soils or fine grained soils s compared to cohesionless soils.(sand 6-10%0

Can buttermilk be used in place of condensed milk in recipes?

You will change the flavor of the finished product, but the moisture content of any of them is about the same. Evaporated milk has a higher fat content, but not enough to throw off the recipe.
