Argon does not power light bulbs, electricity does. It protects the filament. Normal air would quickly cause the filament to burn away. Argon does not do this as it is chemically inert. Old lightbulbs contained a vacuum, but it was later found that having an inert gas such as argon present could help dissipate heat better, thus allowing the filament to last longer.
argon
Sometimes light bulbs have argon.
Argon does not react. :)
Some of them do.
Argon(or nitrogen) and tungsten are used in incandescent light bulbs.
The gas typically found in light bulbs is argon.

Argon (Ar)
Light bulbs
Yes, it is.
The noble gas used in light bulbs and photographs is argon. Argon is used in light bulbs to prevent filament degradation and in photographs to create a stable environment for preserving prints and negatives.
