Possibly the worst answer ever, sorry but that's not even close. Brake light can come on for 3 reasons in most cars: 1. low brake fluid (may only be noticable around corners and accel/decel) and if fluid is low have your brake pads checked before topping it off to avoid a spill later, 2. parking brake on (or faulty switch/wiring that thinks its on), 3. a difference in pressure between two sides of the line which is almost always cause by a leak somewhere in the systemAnswerusually it is because the altenatoring is not giving off enough amps (Faulty) so it starts to shutoff paower to unnessary items one at a time until it completely fails.
brake light comes on on the dash
If the ABS and brake light are coming on while driving, this is an indicator that it is time to get your brakes checked and replaced. If not, the brakes will wear out causing you to not be able to stop.
There was a manufacturing problem with the original equipment brake light sockets which allowed many to fail prematurely. Saturn attempted to replace all of the brake light assemblies through a recall campaign. If your brake light assembly has not already been replaced, contact your local Saturn dealer.
Low brake fluid in the master cylinder
The parking brake light comes on when you engage the parking brake. Pull the parking brake release handle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the brake light also comes on if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder is low ( in your engine compartment )
It may be the ABS is you have it. Check the fuse for the ABS and if it is blown, that's why the light is on.
the two top ones.
On the undwerside of the dash attached to the brake pedal.
The brake light in the dash comes on if the parking brake is engaged or the brake fluid level is low in the brake master cylinder in the engine compartment
Yes, a blown brake light fuse causes the shift interlock to malfunction. If the interlock can't tell if the brake is depressed or not, it won't shift out of park. The brake light fuse is a 15A in the engine bay fuse box.
ADD BRAKE FLUID
Check the brake light switch. It is defective or out of adjustment.
I step on brakes, dashboard light comes on which says stop.
The brake light in your dash comes on , if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment is LOW , and also if your emergency brake is on
The brake warning light
If you want to change the brake light, you will need a Torx screwdriver. You will also have to open your trunk and remove the lens cover assembly.
Check the brake fluid level in your brake master cylinder in the engine compartment ( the brake light also comes on if the parking / emergency brake is applied )
Replace the bulb it works when you turn on the driving lights and when you brake. there are two little springs inside the light one is for the brake light and the other is for the driving light. All you need to do is replace the bulb. good luck.
A 1995 Saturn SC1 does have a low fuel light warning. The light comes on at about 1/8 of a tank.
wrong bulbs or bad earth
THE BRAKE LIGHT IS LOCATED BELOW THE DASH. LOCATE THE ARM HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND YOU WILL SEE A SWITCH THAT COMES OUT WHEN THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED TURNING THE LIGHT ON. WHEN THE BRAKE IS RELEASED THE SWITCH DEPRESSES AGAIN TURNING THE LIGHT OFF.
The brake light switch is under the dash, and whenever the brake pedal is touched the brake light comes on. If the switch has failed or is out of adjustment it will leave the brake light on.
Saturn built it ... let them fix it!
try releasing the brake
