Possibly the worst answer ever, sorry but that's not even close. Brake light can come on for 3 reasons in most cars: 1. low brake fluid (may only be noticable around corners and accel/decel) and if fluid is low have your brake pads checked before topping it off to avoid a spill later, 2. parking brake on (or faulty switch/wiring that thinks its on), 3. a difference in pressure between two sides of the line which is almost always cause by a leak somewhere in the system
Answerusually it is because the altenatoring is not giving off enough amps (Faulty) so it starts to shutoff paower to unnessary items one at a time until it completely fails.
