Why does car start after sitting for awhile then run until turned off then not start again after replacing coil-pickup coil-plugs-plug wires-distributor cap-fuel shut off switch and fuel filter?

Pull off the starter and have it checked out. I bought a new from auto zone my 93 and it turned over and ran a couple of times and quit but it would start if i let it sit for awhile. If you have to buy one make sure they test it first don't take there word.
