So that you can eat the body of crist.
Ah, Christians aren't sad at Holy Communion, they are reverent, or should be.
Only Christians and Catholics do.
The offering of the Holy Communion is how Christians worship God.
Holy Communion in the Methodist Church is open to anyone who professes a Christian faith. The laymembers go up to the altar and receive the bread from the clergy and the dip it in the cup. They can take Communion standing, sitting, or kneeling.
A special minister of holy communion is a lay person who is given the opportunity to help the priest or presider in a Mass to distribute Holy Communion. A special minister of holy communion may also give holy communion to the sick.
The Catholic Church is the 'communion of holy people.'
No, there are no Godparents nor sponsors for First Holy Communion.
Holy Communion, you answered it yourself ;)
Yes, the Orthodox Christians have always had Holy Communion (then known as Breaking of Bread) since the first century AD, and have continued to have it for over 2,000 years.
Holy Communion should serve as a profound reminder of Christ's sacrifice and love, fostering a deeper spiritual connection among Christians. It encourages believers to reflect on their faith, seek forgiveness, and cultivate a spirit of unity within the community. Additionally, participating in Communion can inspire Christians to live out their faith through acts of service, compassion, and love toward others. Ultimately, it reinforces the call to embody the teachings of Jesus in daily life.
They can, however communion is a thing for people who are Christians/believers ( and they are people with normal sin) to remember Jesus Christ's death on the cross. There is no purpose/reason for somebody who is not a Christian to take communion.
Catholic AnswerCatholics do not "take" Holy Communion, they "receive" it. And Church, usually at Mass, is the place and time to receive Our Blessed Lord in the Holy Eucharist. The only time to receive Holy Communion at home is if you are sick, and a priest, deacon, or duly appointed Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist brings Him to you. Any other way or receiving Our Lord, unless specifically approved by your Bishop is not permitted by the Church. Finally, although it is still Holy Communion, it is infinitely better to receive Holy Communion during Mass both because a) just attending Mass, even without Holy Communion, is a great source of grace, b) and, believe it or not, being a Christian means being part of the Body of Christ. Being Christian is a corporate thing, you need to be worshipping with your fellow Christians, and receiving Holy Communion with them. So you are mistaken, it is not better to receive Holy Communion at home, and it is NEVER better to TAKE Holy Communion.
